Our fun, creative and talented Dakotas/Wyoming traffic engineering and transportation planning group is looking for a Traffic EIT/Coordinatorto join our team. The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment, enjoy tackling new challenges, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and have a passion to advance the transportation profession. They will be comfortable working collaboratively and independently. As a Traffic EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

Collaborate with multimodal teams of planners, engineers, technical specialists, and communications specialists – at times under compressed timelines.Collect and evaluate project-related data, which may include GIS analysis, traffic data, analysis of big data, Census data, and research.Provide traffic engineering and transportation planning services for state and federal agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, cities and counties.Assess traffic, bicycle, and pedestrian operations and safety using modeling software.Evaluate multimodal (vehicles, bicycle, pedestrian, transit, etc.) needs.Identify geometric, traffic control or technological solutions to address existing transportation system deficiencies.Identify complete street solutions to promote multimodal mobility and safetyResearch and identify new and innovative solutions to plan for and adapt to the growth of technology in transportation.Work with our team to write data-backed and compelling multimodal statewide, regional, and small-area plans; electric vehicle planning studies; traffic impact studies; transportation grant applications; and multimodal corridor and interchange studies.Engage the public and study stakeholders at public meetings, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and other project eventsShare project work and conclusions with project team members, clients and the public.Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificateCandidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progressionComputer skills using Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, AutoCAD and MicroStationRequired QualificationsBachelor's degreeStrong verbal and written skillsConduct traffic design using CAD platformsincluding MicroStation, autoCad and Guide Sign softwareConduct operational analysisusing a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties,including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and AimsunConduct safety analysis using a variety of  safety software tolls including Highway SafetySoftware
Ability to multitask while working on many projects at onceAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
