DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a full-time Traffic Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Columbus, OR Cincinnati, OH. The ideal candidate will be driven, intellectually curious, committed to excellence, and demonstrate a desire to make a difference in the communities we serve. The position will support planners, engineers, and project managers. This position will utilize knowledge and skills to develop planning studies, reports, and traffic engineering plans and estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge of multimodal transportation planning, alternatives development, and traffic engineering Conduct research, collect and sort data, prepare reports and graphics. Develop and evaluate alternative conceptual designs; consolidate project alternatives and recommendations from stakeholder input. Conduct traffic analysis – forecasting, modeling, and simulation Develop traffic engineering design plans – Traffic signals and ITS, pavement markings and signing, maintenance of traffic, and highway lighting.

 PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.  Minimum 2-4 years of work experience in transportation projects including traffic planning, modeling, analysis, and/or design. Effective communication skills and technical writing ability to prepare project reports. Experience with one or more software programs such as Microstation, AutoCAD, VISSIM, TransModeler, Synchro/Simtraffic, and HCS is preferred. Ability to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary teams. P.E. or F.E./E.I.T. is preferred. 

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $64,470- $93,095 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
