Traffic Engineer
Job Title: Traffic Engineer
Job Description

As a Traffic Engineer, you will serve as the Project Manager, Project Lead, or Task Lead in the development of traffic and safety projects. You will prepare traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrant studies, intersection design studies, safety studies, bicycle planning, and technical report writing. You will also prepare traffic signal design plans for new and modified intersections, construction sequencing, pavement marking plans, signing plans, and traffic control plans. Additionally, you will provide technical assistance and quality control oversight on traffic engineering studies and design projects managed by other project managers and task leads. You will support local and national practice areas in traffic engineering.

Hard Skills4+ years of relevant experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and/or Intelligent Transportation SystemsArizona Professional Engineer (PE) licenseProfessional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) or Road Safety Professional 1 (RSP1) certification (preferred)Familiarity with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the AASHTO Green BookExperience with DOT, local county, municipal, and/or developer driven transportation and traffic projects (preferred)Proficiency with SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, CORSIM or other traffic capacity and analysis softwareWorking knowledge of MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or other advanced software packages (preferred)Job Type

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Phoenix, Arizona and some days remote.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $115000.00
