Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring a Traffic Engineer II with a passion for innovation and solving complex problems to join our team in our  Atlanta - Peachtree Corners office.

Our Traffic Engineer- II performs conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline.  The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures.  Candidate should have experience in preparing traffic impact studies and developing and assessing design and/or operational alternatives in accordance with local, state and federal policies and requirements.  Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected.

Responsibilities:

Work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projectsThe responsibilities will include assisting in analysis, design and implementation of projects such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations studies, capacity analysis, traffic signal design, signal timing, signing, striping, and traffic control plansProvides support for other engineering activities as required.  May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performanceMay be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size projectProvides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project

Qualifications:

5 years or more of Traffic/Transportation Engineering experienceBackground in performing traffic counts, travel time runs and roadway element inventoriesTraffic Signal design; and signal timing development tools experienceFamiliarity with MUTCD and HCMWorking knowledge of traffic analysis and simulation software (Synchro, HCS, VISSIM,) as well as Microstation or AutoCAD ​is essentialProficient working knowledge of, and strong hands-on experience with, major types of technical analysesExposure to transportation issues in a greater metropolitan region and ability to work with stakeholdersBachelors degree in Civil  engineering or a related Degree  from an accredited institutionPE Registration is preferred

Salary Range: 

$70,500.00 - $145,800.00
