Based in Milwaukee or Madison, Wisconsin, you will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects and utilize your transportation design expertise. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for everyday living. This role will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and project managers.
Using your experience, you’ll be responsible for:
• Performing traffic analysis, signal timing optimization, and preparing technical reports.
• Performing traffic related design tasks that could include traffic signals, lighting, ITS, and pavement markings/signing.
• Developing plans, preparing technical specifications, developing quantities and estimates, completing peer reviews, and compiling design documentation.
• Coordinating with design discipline leads.
• Promoting Jacobs quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation focus preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in transportation engineering with an emphasis in traffic
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)
• Knowledge of and experience using traffic modeling software (Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, and/or Vissim)
• Knowledge of traffic signals, lighting, ITS, and or pavement markings/signing
• Working knowledge of federal and state design guidelines (WisDOT preferred)
