Traffic Engineering & Advanced Mobility Engineer

As a result, a full-time position is available for a Traffic & Advanced Mobility Engineer in Florida. Responsibilities include: Perform traffic analysis, signal timing optimization, field traffic studies Perform analysis of traffic patterns and trends using traditional and advanced traffic engineering tools Perform field observations of traffic conditions and provide recommendations Support development of ITS documentation and design plans Prepare technical reports and memos Prepare design plans for traffic control devices (including traffic signals, signing, and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and ITS) Prepare medium and large-scale multi-modal transportation design projects Support the growth and development of Mead & Hunt’s traffic engineering practice in the south Florida market and beyond A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and at least two (2) years of experience. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: At least 3 years of experience preferred EIT/EI certification preferred IMSA certification preferred Ability and desire to acquire PE, PTOE and RSP certifications within 2 years Experience with signal timing and traffic operations Synchro and/or VISSIM experience Ability and desire to learn WaySync, Probe-Based ATSPMs, and High-Rez ATSPM signal timing Ability and desire to learn Microstation and/or AutoCAD and perform traffic engineering design Ability and desire to advance to a supervisory position in 5-8 years Ability and desire to participate in business development activities including meetings and proposals in a support role At Mead & Hunt we shape the future by putting people first.
