The Traffic Maintenance Chief, with direction from the Traffic Control Supervisor, participates in, oversees, and assigns the work of crews engaged in the manufacture, installation, and mainte­nance of parking and traffic control signs and devices, and the application of pavement markings. Ideal candidates for this position have: - People leadership skills and have served as a lead worker for a crew. - Experience installing and/or repairing traffic signs and devices. - Skill operating and maintaining pavement marking machinery. - Knowledge and experience working with Municipal Code. Performance/Written Examination: Applicants meeting the minimum requirements and the City's driving standards will be scheduled for a performance examination requiring successful operation of a LineLazer IV. Those passing the performance exam will be scheduled for a written examination. The exams are scheduled for October 29 & 30. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications and who currently hold the position of Traffic Device Maintenance Worker or Senior Traffic Device Maintenance Worker, and have held for at least 6 months, are not required to complete the performance examination but are required to complete the written examination.
