Traffic Manager
Ace Hardware
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for all operating procedures related to the Traffic Department. The responsibilities are listed below are not all inclusive but in general.
Dispatch, scheduling backhauls, daily start up, on time delivery reports and monitoring daily, Lean loads closing and scheduling, monitoring daily driver logs for DOT violations, working with brokers, PTO and vacation scheduling, STO and transfers, payroll, driver orientation, driver safety meeting, uniforms, permits, driver reviews, driver qualification files, driver reimbursements, truck and trailer maintenance, accident and incident logs, special event planning (toolbox trailer, gondola train, etc.), VMR picks, QUALCOMM reviews (unassigned driving, VIR, CER, performance), DMPS/TMS, Phones, customer relations, review bills, GL review against SAP, special deliveries, Corporate logistics reports, budget reviews, increase non-delivery, work with distribution to create a cohesive unit, work with Crossdock and Crossdock drivers. Managing Traffic clerical staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Maintain Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) files and records on all drivers.
+ Coordinate and manage daily dispatch and routes
+ Manage driver's
+ DMPS/TMS maintenance
+ Annual reviews for drivers and clerical staff
+ Financials review (SAP)
+ Conduct quarterly driver safety meetings
+ Driver Training (Hazmat, CSA, Infini-T, HOS)
+ Order and review Permits
+ Monitor/ Audit driver DOT files
+ Coordinate, track backhaul, payment for AHC
+ Manage maintenance of fleet with Penske
+ Manage clerical issues and operations
+ Manage Workday (Driver and Clerical Payroll)
+ Monitor/ Audit all reports
+ Monitor/ Audit registration and certification on equipment
+ Track report accidents/incidents through repair
+ Manage driver vacation and PTO
+ Audit daily logs and on time deliveries.
+ Positive daily communications with customers.
+ Maintain positive driver and staff employee relations.
+ Responsible for after hour’s communication with drivers.
+ Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation and operations goals.
+ Review orders, production schedules and shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations.
+ Confer with customers, supervisors, managers, or other personnel to exchange information to resolve problems.
+ Dispatch personnel and vehicles in response to reports of emergencies.
+ Assist in the planning of transportation routes.
+ Responsible for the safety of the department and security of people and resources, accident investigations and loss prevention.
+ Inspect or test materials, stock, vehicles, equipment, or facilities to ensure that they are safe, free of defects, and consistent with specifications.
+ Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in logistics/transportation or related emphasis is preferred or related experience
+ Proven management experience in a distribution/traffic role
+ Must be flexible and able to respond to driver inquiries outside the normal workday
+ Ability to analyze and logistically manage a fleet of 60+ Ace drivers
+ Must possess positive employee relation skills and excellent communication skills
+ Basic knowledge of budgeting and monthly financials
+ Strong leadership characteristics
+ Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
+ Familiar with Hazard Material information and regulations.
+ Must possess positive employee relation skills and excellent communication skills.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
+ Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills
+ Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

**Compensation Details:**
$95,000 - $110,000 Annually
