DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is seeking team members with a proven background in traffic engineering, operations, and/or program management. The successful candidate will serve on Michael Baker’s PA Turnpike General Consulting Engineer (GCE) team which provides a diverse range of technical expertise and services, while serving as trusted advisors to advance the PA Turnpike’s strategic plan goals and objectives. Key responsibilities for this role will include:
Interact regularly with PTC senior management and technical staff within the Traffic Engineering & Operations (TE&O) Department to fulfill client requests and project assignments while performing a variety of work, facing new challenges daily, and making a positive organizational impact while working in a positive and forward-thinking environment. Manage the execution of work tasks as assigned, which will include continued leadership of the Connected, Automated, Smart & Electric Vehicles committee and the Work Zone Safety subcommittee. Represent the traffic department on GCE assignments including the annual review of the 10-year capital program delivery, strategic plan performance review, asset management, and other projects and tasks as needed. Annual field views of the PA Turnpike system to evaluate and collect data in association with the performance and condition of traffic related assets. Develop scopes of work and budgets for corresponding GCE work tasks. Preparation and/or quality assurance reviews of task-related deliverables, such as formal reports, informal white papers, and databases. Independent reviews of technical project deliverables in the project delivery process, such as PS&E packages and milestone reports.In addition to technical expertise, the ideal candidate will excel in client communications, effectively conveying complex ideas and be comfortable leading tasks of varying size, scope and complexity. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university. Minimum 8 years of experience of traffic engineering or operations. Experience working with toll agencies, state DOTs, FHWA or similar transportation agencies. Possess strong critical thinking skills while striving for quality and client satisfaction. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.. Ability to be self-motivated, work in a dynamic environment alongside clients, possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Experience working on PA Turnpike total reconstruction or other design projects is desired but not required. Experience working on ITS, traffic operations, work zone safety, asset management, capital planning, Connected/Automated/Shared/Electric Vehicle planning is desired but not required.Experience with tolling or similar operations desired but not required.
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $82,326 to $129,663. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
