Position summary: Responsible for engineering design, traffic operations and analysis using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope  Utilize various design software/tools (Synchro, HCS, and/or VISSIM) for traffic analysis for a variety of conditions to perform traffic modeling and analysis, including signal systems.  Prepare technical reports which include traffic impact, transportation planning and traffic safety. Work elements may include volume development calculations, crash evaluations/safety assessments and HSM analysis. Perform design computations Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools Develop construction cost estimates Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals  Assist in the proposals preparation as required Attend meetings with clients  Assist with development of project schedule Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
