Job Title: Trailer Mechanic
Job Description

The trailer mechanic will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fuel tanker trucks and trailers, including DOT inspections. This position does not involve engine or transmission work beyond preventive maintenance, as these are covered under warranty. Mechanics must have their own tools, ideally a rolling toolbox.

ResponsibilitiesPromote safety in all actions.Prepare repair orders as per company policy.Work effectively and safely within the shop area and when making a road call without supervision.Complete records in a timely manner in compliance with company rules and requirements.Comply with and continually update knowledge of all DOT regulations, federal, state, local, and company standards and requirements.Ensure personal safety when performing maintenance operations on tractors and/or trailers.Maintain a clean and safe environment within the shop.Dispose of all waste products, both hazardous and non-hazardous, according to regulations.Communicate with supervisors as required.Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors or CSC Manager as required.Essential SkillsHigh School Education or equivalentAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projectsSelf-starter with detail-oriented work habitsMeet qualification requirements as stipulated in Section 396.19 and Section 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsAbility to safely operate tractor/trailer units within terminal premisesTechnical knowledge to handle various components including air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, and springs (some may exceed 100 lbs)Inspect, repair, or replace domes, valves, vents, or other equipment as necessaryProfessional demeanorGood interpersonal skillsDependable with good attendanceBasic mechanic’s skillsThorough knowledge of DOT regulations, federal, state, local, and company regulations and standardsAdditional Skills & QualificationsASE Brake certification highly preferred (must be willing to obtain)Experience with DOT 406, 407, 412 Tanker/cargo tanker highly preferredMust hold or be willing to obtain cargo tank inspection certificationTanker trailer experience highly preferred (flatbed trailer experience considered)CDL Class A is a plus but not requiredWhy Work Here?

We offer a 401k with company match, paid vacation, and health insurance. The position is Monday to Friday with preferred hours of 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm, and no overtime unless approved. Enjoy a balanced work-life with no weekend work required.

Work Environment

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time on a concrete shop floor. Work is conducted in a normal shop environment with concrete floors and sometimes uneven or slippery surfaces. The shop is small with two bays.

This is a Permanent position based out of Park City, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
