**Mechanic - Trailer Repair Technician**
**Job Description**
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for trailer repair? Join our dynamic team and put your expertise to work! We are looking for experienced professionals to repair semi-truck tankers and trailers. If you have hands-on experience with trailer and truck repair, fabrication, and welding (GMAW and GTAW) in aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, we want to hear from you!
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair semi-truck tankers and trailers.
+ Perform fabrication and welding using GMAW and GTAW techniques on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
+ Conduct electrical repairs on trailers.
+ Perform engine and hydraulics repairs.
+ Repair and maintain pump systems.
+ Inspect tanks and trailers to ensure compliance with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat).
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other systems on trailers.
+ Service and repair tank systems.
+ Occasionally work on diesel engines, focusing on trailer and tanker repairs.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in semi-trailer and truck repair.
+ Proficiency in fabrication and welding (TIG and MIG).
+ Knowledge of trailer mechanics, including brakes, electrical systems, refrigeration, and lighting.
+ Effective and efficient use of tools.
+ Strong work ethic and teamwork skills.
+ Pride in workmanship and a desire to learn and grow.
+ Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other systems on trailers.
+ Knowledge of air brake systems and repairs.
+ Experience with tank service and repair.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to effectively inspect tanks and trailers for DOT compliance.
+ Experience with hydraulics repair.
+ Basic tool knowledge and use.
+ Familiarity with using a multimeter, measuring tape, torpedo level, and drill (air or electric).
+ Ability to pass a welding skills test and obtain on-the-job certification.

**Work Environment**
The job is performed in an indoor facility with large garage bays that are not climate controlled. It is a busy repair shop environment. Basic tools required include hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen wrenches (metric and standard), a multimeter, measuring tape, torpedo level, small square or tri-square, drill (air or electric), impact gun, weld helmet (if welding is part of the job), and a rolling tool cart or box.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a **Contract to Hire** position based out of **Phoenix, Arizona.**
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00/hr.
