Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position acts as a subject matter expert for Trailer Technicians. You are responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and other equipment. You must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes for units to meet J. B. Hunt specifications at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs as it pertains trailer maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA InspectionsTroubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform the most difficult repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and exceed company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all timesComplete secondary maintenance on escalated repairsMay troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair specialized trailer equipment, such as refrigerated unitsMay onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks

Schedule:

Monday to Friday - 5:00AM to 1:30PM

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age with 3 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentAND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesMust be A/C certifiedMust be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakesAble to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase programWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed


Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentEPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration LicenseAdvanced welding skills (MIG and stick)Knowledge of ABS systemsAbility to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a team Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

Compensation:

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $28.94 - $43.42 per hour.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
