Trailer Technician - East Dubuque, IL **Hirschbach Motor Lines, Inc.** 1 Positions ID: job_20230501172646_G Posted On 05/01/2023 **Job Overview** **Working for Hirschbach!** **Pay & Benefits** + $20/hr - $36/hr based on experience + $1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS! + 4-day work week (4x10) + Paid weekly! + 3 weeks of PTO upon hire!! + $6,240/annual ($3/hr) shift premium for 2nd shift positions + $1,200/annual tool allowance + $200/annual boot allowance + $1,200/annual CDL A or B Stipend + Opportunities for self-promotion with provided OEM education courses + Uniforms provided with laundry services included + Full comprehensive benefit plan, includes medical, dental, vision, company paid disability and life insurance, and more voluntary elections! + 401(k) with match ​ **Duties & Responsibilities** + Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on trailer refrigeration units. + Diagnose and repair issues to 2019-2024 Carrier Units & 2024 Thermoking units. + Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. + Repair or replace defective parts, such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, fans, hoses, belts, and electronic controls. + Ensure that all repairs meet or exceed manufacturer’s specifications and company standards. + Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation regarding maintenance and repairs. + Manage inventory of parts and supplies. + Adhere to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. + Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly and professionally with drivers and fleet managers. + Stay up to date with the latest industry technology and repair techniques through ongoing education and training. + Assist other mechanics as needed **Talent Requirements** + 608 Certification required. + Experience with TRUs (Transport Refrigeration Units) preferred. + Thermoking and/or Carrier factory certifications preferred. + Proven experience as a refrigeration mechanic, specifically with trailer units. + Understanding of transportation refrigeration operation and microprocessor control systems. + Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. + Basic computer skills as it applies to diagnostic tooling. + Valid Driver's License **Language Proficiency Requirements** Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required for this position, as it is essential for daily communication and performing job duties effectively. **Company Overview** For 80+ years, Hirschbach Motor Lines has built a sterling reputation for delivering time and temperature sensitive freight.
