Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in audit and assurance focus on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information enhancing the credibility and reliability of this information with a variety of stakeholders. They evaluate compliance with regulations including assessing governance and risk management processes and related controls.

In financial statement audit at PwC, you will focus on obtaining reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor’s report that includes the auditor’s opinion.

Programme:
An excellent opportunity is now available in our PwC Channel Island’s Firm for individuals to complete a three-year SAICA articles training programme after having completed their studies. PwC CI is a great place to train with a global leader to complete your SAICA qualification. Trainees will gain exposure to auditing clients across a wide spectrum of industries, including global players such as FTSE 100 companies, middle market organisations and smaller, fast-growing companies.

You’ll be providing market leading audit services to an unprecedented range of clients. Our clients range from leading multinational companies to start-ups, from family businesses and governments and private individuals. Within financial services our clients cover industries such as banking and capital markets, private equity, real estate, insurance, and consumer finance. Our audit helps organisations navigate regulatory complexity while strengthening trust and transparency in their business.


Depending on your client’s needs, your time will be split between working at client premises, working in the office and studying for your professional exams. We trust our people to be where our clients need them to be, working together with our colleagues in person as often as needed. Some travel is possible for work, and you should expect there to be busy times of the year.


Who is this vacancy for and what you’ll need:
Candidates would have passed or currently be in their final year of study towards Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA)/Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) at a SAICA accredited university. Candidates must hold an Undergraduate degree. Candidates who have already passed ITC would also be considered.

Do you need a Work Permit?
Due to immigration restrictions in Guernsey the Channel Islands firm is only able to consider trainee candidates who hold valid UK or EU passport or have access to ancestry Visa.

Professional Qualifications:
Trainees will be able to complete the required training and qualifying exams with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
