Purpose of Role To undertake training to become competent in all aspects of Colas Rail's Basic Driving Training and Competency Assessment (TO2-203) and eventual successful assessment to become a fully qualified driver. Upon successful completion of TO2-203 the individual will begin to build and maintain a substantial route card as advised by Management. The individual will also gain numerous tractions as and when required. Key Responsibilities + Successful completion of elements of Basic Driving Training and Competency Assessment (TO2-203) + Drive and conduct Colas Rail Plant’s fleet as directed + Undertake all driving duties in accordance with all Driving Standards and the Rulebook + Be prepared to lodge away from home as required + Be prepared to travel + Ensure your vehicle is prepped according to safety standards before any vehicle is moved + Report any defects to the relevant engineering departments + Must be prepared to work nights/days, evenings and weekends including bank holidays + Ensure professionalism – working with other and alone + Self-organisation skills - Follow weekly orders and rosters Person Specification + At least 20 years old + Train Driver Psychometric pass + GCSE's - English and Maths 4-9 or A*to C + Medically fit – (full drivers medical pass) + ICT proficient + Full clean UK driving licence + Higher education (A-Level, NVQs, National Diploma, Degree etc.) + Transferable experience from a relevant technical role e.g. Emergency Services & Military Service, etc. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
