Working Hours: Full time, permanent

Role Description

To provide IT technical support to employees across the different departments and sites of the organisation. Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Engineer they will also be involved in the roll-out and implementation of new services.

Competencies/Skills/Knowledge/Experience

3rd Level Qualification in Information Technology NFQ Level 6 or equivalentAt least one of the following certifications: A+, Network +, MTA Networking Fundamentals, MTA Security FundamentalsAt least 1 years’ post qualification experienceStrong knowledge of MS networking technologies – Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCPStrong knowledge of Exchange/OutlookSome experience administrating switches, firewalls and routersKnowledge of VPN& WAN technologies advantageousPBX & VOIP technologies an advantageExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong use of initiativeDemonstrate the ability to plan and organiseHigh degree of flexibilityGood problem solver and decision maker

What the role includes?

Provide 1st and 2nd line support to end-users on all ICT related tasks both over the phone and at desk side Assist with maintaining IT Support systems are kept up to dateDesktop environment including hardware (PCs, printers, mobile devices, telecoms), applications and operating systems (Windows 7, 10)Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software faultsSetup of new users on IT systemsInstallation of IT hardware and softwarePlay an active role in new project as they arise and be involved in the change management processTake ownership of IT projects when requested to successful completionTrain staff in the use of IT systemsEnsure confidentiality in all matters of information obtained during the course of employmentPresent and act in a professional manner at all timesBe aware of current developments and keep abreast of new developments in ICTAssume responsibility for his/her own professional development and safe work practiceEnsure a safe environment for yourself, colleagues and visitorsPerform such other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned from time to time by the management or a nominee
