About You

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who is eager to deliver, with strong attention to detail who has the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment. We are looking for candidates with a sound knowledge of Sedgwick and its operation as a company, who is willing to operate flexible hours where needed, with the capacity to work independently and demonstrate initiative and innovation.

Specific Responsibilities in this role

Claimant relationship management & Third-party relationship management – ensuring continuity of contact and arranging appointmentsProcessing and actioning mail and claim related documentationIn collaboration with claims support colleagues, conducting necessary pre-site inspection investigations and entering results and updates on the electronic file systemBased on a comprehensive grasp of the case and liaising with claim support colleagues, communicating an action plan to the claimant and/or third parties – specifying actions, time frames, and deadlinesIn collaboration with claim support colleagues, monitoring the life cycle of a claim and progress chasing (ensuring fulfilment of action plans)Proactive management of a portfolio of property claims of varying complexity.Applying policy cover, terms and conditionsPreparing reports on the claim under investigationArranging interim payments, examining costs and achieving a settlementIdentifying suspect or fraudulent claims and dealing with the same in accordance with fraud guidelinesRecording and resolving customer complaints

Qualifications/skills

APA PL / CL Qualification essential (CIP or higher, desirable)High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPointSound numeric skillsKnowledge of building structures with an understanding of building defects desirableFlexible with the ability to work outside normal working hours when the need arises - storms etcAbility to delicately deal with sensitive situationsHigh level interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skillsFull clean drivers license

Experience

Demonstrated experience in the Property (or Liability) Claims environment OR experience in Surveying / Engineering or a similar function.  A minimum of 2 years claims experience in another insurance field could potentially be considered tooLoss Adjusting / Insurance claims experience highly advantageous.
