Element has an opportunity for a Trainee Test Engineer to join our growing team in Wednesbury. This is a great opportunity to develop your engineering career within a global Testing, Inspection and Certification business. 

 

Responsibilities Preparing and calibrating all laboratory test equipment to UKAS and OEM requirementsPreparation of test samples / specimens and fixture preparationTesting materials and components to various specifications & standardsPreparing and compiling test reports when requiredAdhering to regulations and laboratory policies regarding health and safetyMaintaining accurate and systematic records in accordance with documented proceduresPerforming tasks as assigned by the Senior Laboratory staffEnsure all Quality and H&S procedures are fully adhered toMaintaining a clean and hygienic working environmentMaintain high standards of housekeeping strictly Skills / Qualifications A good general education including GCSE’s in English, Maths and SciencesExperience in working in a test environment is preferred but not essentialExperience in operating workshop machinery is preferred but not essentialAn inquisitive approach to learn about product engineering and testingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsConfident, punctual and well organisedThe ability to develop strong working relationships with both colleagues & clientsThe ability to work to tight deadlines
