Title of this Position’s Supervisor:
Reports to Safety Manager
Job Purpose or Scope:
The Safety Supervisor has the responsibility of assisting the Safety Manager in ensuring the safety & security of all employees, customers, and other motorists through the application of providing a risk-free safety culture. In addition, the Safety Supervisor enforces, observes and reviews workplace safety & security; and conducts & supervises accident investigations. A CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement is required for this position.
Major
Responsibilities:
1)
Assists with compliance of the Drug and Alcohol program.
2)
Coordinates the DriveCam Program with assistance from the safety specialists.
3)
Administers workers compensation and risk management working with insurance companies and company attorneys.
4)
Works with the maintenance and facility managers to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
5)
Coordinates facility security – overseeing security team and performing daily facility inspections and security audits.
6)
Coordinates with maintenance managers to ensure that shop employees are following safety rules and that shop areas are free from risk of injury through oversight & frequent inspections.
7)
Assists Safety Manager with other duties as needed.
8)
Assists Training Manager as needed- specifically but not exclusive to Metro and First Transit safety campaigns.
9)
Performs accident/incident investigations. Provides post-accident counseling with drivers.
10)
Provides assistance and training to drivers on passenger management and other safety related issues.
11)
Completes, compiles, and submits location safety reports as required to meet company and contact requirements.
12)
Coaches and counsel’s employees on safety related concerns.
13)
Participates in the coordination and presentation of location safety meetings.
14)
Performs other duties as assigned.
15)
CDL Required for this Position. Class A/B with Passenger endorsement
