We are looking for an experienced Sr Instructional Designer/Trainer Consultant to support the local deployment of SAP S/4 HANA to Chevrons San Joaquin Valley Business Unit (SJVBU). SJVBU operates upstream oil and gas assets in Central California and is part of a broader S/4 release to four (4) upstream business units in North America.
This consultant will be responsible for creating innovative business instructional materials that align with SJV organizational goals and learner needs for our new Digital Core solutions enhancement (specifically asset management (plant maintenance), materials management, and finance). The Senior Instructional Designer/Trainer Consultant will work with SJV DC BCM, C&E team members, and theDigital Core Central team to assist SJV with designing and developing fit-for-purpose learning products that drive user adoption and proficiency in enterprise systems.
Under the direction of the SJV Training Lead, the Senior Instructional Designer/Trainer Consultant is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
1. Work with the SJV change managers (SJV BCM) to understand the change impacts, review the core curriculum, and align on what is needed for local training and engagement.
2. Develop a comprehensive range of training materials related to enterprise systems and processes, including e-learning modules, training presentations, system simulations, instructor-led materials, and quick reference guides.
3. Ability to create online, interactive training materials in various formats, such as microlearning, videos, and eLearning courses.
4. Experience in developing and administering a variety of assessments and analyzing assessment data to evaluate instructional program effectiveness.
5. Leverage industry-leading tools (e.g., SAP Enable Now, Articulate Storyline, Vyond) to create innovative and effective training materials in a fast-paced environment.
6. Collaborate closely with SJV Functional Leads, Change Managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand specific training needs and develop tailored user-centric solutions.
7. Assist the SJV Training Lead in developing classroom agendas, timelines, and content flow to deliver practical training to end users.
8. Develop and maintain a consistent design approach across all training materials.
9. Manage multiple project assignments simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and ensuring efficient project execution aligned with schedules and budgets.
10. Accurately track and document the progress of instructional design projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
11. Work closely with stakeholders, including leadership teams and learners, to understand the learning needs and objectives.
12. Establish and participate in content review, revision, and sign-off cycles.
13. Participate and report in regularly scheduled team meetings.
14. Travel to field locations as needed.
15. Perform other duties as required (e.g. surveys, training data analysis, and administrative duties in support of training)
