TRAINER - AUTO ELECTRICAL

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Auto Electrical Trainer to join the versatile Human Resources Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinators, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for Auto Electrical Technicians, Auto - Electrical Apprentices and In- service personnel.

 Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Train technicians on the principles of auto electrical systems, including electrical theory, components, circuits, wiring diagrams, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques relevant to vehicles and mobile equipment used in the plant. Provide training on diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques used to identify and troubleshoot electrical issues in vehicles and mobile equipment, including engine control systems, lighting systems, and electrical accessories. Deliver safety training sessions focused on auto electrical work, emphasizing hazard identification, risk assessment, electrical safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct hands-on training and practical demonstrations of auto electrical repair and diagnostic procedures, allowing technicians to practice skills in a controlled environment and gain confidence in their abilities. Familiarize technicians with various types of auto electrical equipment, tools, and diagnostic instruments used in vehicle maintenance and repair, ensuring they understand proper usage, maintenance, and calibration procedures. Maintain accurate records of auto electrical training activities, including attendance, training content covered, evaluation results, and certification records. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal record-keeping standards. Continuously review and update auto electrical training programs based on feedback, emerging technologies, changes in vehicle systems, and evolving best practices to enhance training effectiveness and relevance. Ensure that auto electrical training programs comply with relevant regulatory standards, industry best practices, and company policies, with a focus on promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance among maintenance personnel. Collaborate with other departments, such as Maintenance, Operations, Safety, and Training, to ensure alignment of auto electrical training initiatives with broader organizational goals and objectives.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate Minimum qualification of Diploma in Auto Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Diploma in Teaching Methodology and must be accredited with TEVETA as a Trainer, Assessor and examiner. SAQA / Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment/ Train the Trainer training qualification (or equivalent) an added advatage Minimum Five (5) years’ working experience. Member of The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ & ERB) Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
