TRAINER-HUMAN RESOURCES - CRDE (FT/VARIES)

This position is overall responsible for facilitating training programs Resort-wide to all Associates using approved modules in a timely and efficient manner. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

The Trainer is responsible to ensure all classroom meeting rules are enforced. Report problems or issues to the appropriate department or leader as necessary. Interfaces with all departments and levels of staff, to provide general training information and completion of tasks as necessary. Responsibilities include communicating via online software, such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, or similar type of software. Responsible for facilitating New Associate Orientation and onboarding activities as needed. Including presentations on compliance and HR related modules.  Includes all tasks and procedures related to online training activities on the learning management system. Conduct evaluations of presentations to ensure the learning experience is continually enhanced and consistent for optimum results. Supports department on-the-job trainers to provide consultation and/or instructional materials to enhance department on-the-job training programs if needed. Responsible for implementing and updating on-going training programs, curricula, and instruction. Obtains and maintains certification credentials for certain compliance courses in order to become an instructor for approved modules if needed. Administer and/or proctor tests or exams for certain modules requiring an Associate to become certified.  Responsible for recertifying for credentials in a timely manner.  Responsible for keeping track and initiating contact with departments to schedule classes to recertify Associates based on department approved timelines. Responsible for managing training projects as assigned to include development of classroom presentation and materials as needed. Responsible for assisting the Training Coordinator if needed in scheduling Resort Associates for classes, tracking and maintaining accurate records of class rosters and other documents if needed. Responsible to ensure classroom space is prepared with training materials, class rosters and equipment as needed. Troubleshoot problems as needed with the Training Coordinator. Responsible to ensure all equipment and classroom documents are collected as needed. Tasks include cleaning up after meetings and classes.  Assist with other duties to include: record keeping, inventory of supplies, store product numbers & vendor information for ordering class materials, assist in internal and external communication, organization and maintenance of files, and other clerical-related requests. Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays if needed. Must be flexible and able to travel for business purposes. Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays or overtime as needed. Promotes a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction in the department. Must lead by example in actions, attitude and professionalism with external and internal guests. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality. Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record. Must complete special tasks as assigned by the Director of Training.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age and above.

Gaming property – must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED is required.  Must have at least 2+years of experience and skills in a public speaking role or a trainer/facilitator or presenter.  Preference given for experience in Human Resources, workforce training and development, management experience, public relations, educator, or a hospitality/sales professional.  Associate’s degree or bachelor’s in HR, business, or public relations is preferred.  Professional certification in training and development or similar certification is preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must demonstrate proficiency in adult learning techniques, presentation skills, and project management skills.  Must be flexible and travel for business purposes.  Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – one or less moving violation within a 12-month period.  Previous knowledge or use in Microsoft Office software, database software, HR or learning management system is preferred.  Public speaking is required, as well as attention to detail, strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to clearly explain and demonstrate concepts and skills to others.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, policy and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
