Trainer- Power Electrical

 

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Trainer Power Electrical  to join the versatile Human Resources Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Communicating Honestly, Transparently, and Acting with Integrity Exhibiting a Results-Driven approach Delivering solutions that are Fit for Purpose Dedicating themselves to Building a Sustainable Legacy Taking Responsibility and being Accountable Committing to Zero Harm Cultivating strong and meaningful Partnerships Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for electrical maintenance personnel involved in high voltage systems, Electrical Apprentices and In- service.

 Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Deliver safety training sessions focused on high voltage systems, emphasizing hazard identification, risk assessment, lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe work practices to prevent electrical accidents and injuries. Maintenance and safeguarding of Electrical Equipment and Tools in the workshop and ensuring of  re-stocking electrical consumables usage, and safe work practices to prevent electrical accidents and injuries. Monitor and interpret Electrical – Siemens Training compliance in accordance with the requirement of HV Electra -Haul Trucks  Ensure personnel are adequately inducted in their work area and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures applied at Lumwana. Source appropriate Electrical Training Material and utilize all resources necessary to provide a cost effective and functional Training Matrix. Conduct hands-on training and practical demonstrations of high voltage equipment operation, testing procedures, insulation testing, and troubleshooting techniques to reinforce learning and enhance practical skills. Ensure that high voltage training programs comply with relevant regulatory standards, industry best practices, and company policies, with a focus on promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance among electrical maintenance personnel. Assess electrical maintenance personnel's knowledge and skills through written exams, practical assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure they meet the required competency levels in working with high voltage systems. Maintain accurate records of high voltage training activities, including attendance, training content covered, evaluation results, and certification records into DAMSTRA System. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal record-keeping standards. Continuously review and update high voltage training programs based on feedback, emerging technologies, changes in regulations, and evolving best practices to enhance training effectiveness and relevance

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate Minimum qualification of Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Diploma in Teaching Methodology and must be accredited with TEVETA as a Trainer, Assessor and examiner. SAQA / Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment/ Train the Trainer training qualification (or equivalent) an added advantage Minimum Five (5) years’ working experience. Member of The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ & ERB) Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
