Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Training and Support Specialist – Revenue Cycle Operations.
The Training and Support Specialist is responsible for providing training, curriculum development, project organization, and implementation, as well as quality assurance, functions across the Revenue Cycle enterprise at all locations. This position ensures consistent development and coordination of all training strategies, training policies and procedures, course content, course scheduling/coordination, and course education and certification. Responsible for all aspects of revenue cycle compliance auditing, and improvement implementation which includes documenting processes, technical analysis and training program design, testing, and final implementation. Additionally, the Training and Support Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives for Revenue Cycle based on quality standards, tools, and methods to ensure the department is meeting established quality standards and government regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Onboarding:
Provides training and education related to application navigation, during the onboarding process for employees new to the department, in new roles or new to the organization. Assist in the development and facilitation of new hire on-boarding and existing hire continuing education.Training:
Develop, implement and coordinate staff training. Develop materials, schedule classes, and coordinate training with new or existing employees and other areas as needed. Assists with creating and implementing individual professional development plans for management-level individuals, and provides coaching to leadership on development and education for themselves and their teams. Perform assessment of all aspects of patient billing operations, educate and train staff, promote regulatory compliance, serve as a resource for revenue cycle compliance, process improvement, and quality assurance. Evaluate the performance of the operations to improve existing methods of operation and pinpoint possible training needs. Facilitate training programs to meet the needs of the business across the Revenue Cycle enterprise. Maintain training documentation/manuals and job-aides to assure the successful performance outcomes of the group. Monitors and assists in process and problem resolution, integrating efforts with training needs and quality monitoring. Coach and mentor existing and newly hired members of the team as needed. Develops and delivers training and education referencing performance improvement initiatives. Participates in system upgrades and application enhancement planning using subject matter to develop or revise training curriculum.QA:
Reports to Revenue Cycle Leaders quality monitoring results and any identified and/or recommended training needs and deficiencies. Reviews all Quality indicators to monitor trends and determine where training deficiencies exist. Performs competency testing and utilizes assessment tools to identify skill refreshment areas and prioritize educational needs. Perform high-level account review and analysis to support department and A/R management. Work closely with employees and supervisors to monitor the work quality in order to ensure policy compliance and identify training needs. Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or related field with equivalent work experience in Hospital Patient accounts. 4 years experience in hospital insurance billing, account follow-up, auditing, training or project management excellent knowledge of Revenue Cycle processes and systems. Understand quality assurance and process improvement, and proven understanding of revenue cycle operations and technology support. Be knowledgeable in all end-user systems and applications relative to Revenue Cycle management for the purpose of educating and training Revenue Cycle staff on systems and operational processes. Have superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner to both executive and staff level audiences. Previous experience using EpicPreferred Qualifications:
Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM) HFMA CRCR Leadership and/or auditing experience Visio and PowerPoint.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 – $98,786.06 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
