The primary purpose of this position TRAINING INSTRUCTOR NH-1712-02 is to serve as a Training Specialist (Instructor) performing certification, technical, hard-skill, soft-skill, New Employee Orientation, and Supervisory training via classroom and virtual platforms. Responsibilities Manage, develop, deliver and instruct a variety of technical trainings. Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Participate in special manpower, personnel, force development/education and training related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Plan and schedule work in such a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution and ensures effective use of organization resources to achieve organization goals and objectives as well as installation customer needs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) Training Instructor Series 1712. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Applicant must have, or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, three years of progressively responsible general experience, one year of experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. General Experience is described as experience demonstrating the ability to: Teach or instruct in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervise or administer a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Possess a practical knowledge of the subject area being taught and a practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction. OR EDUCATION: Applicant must have successfully completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed a post-high school education and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices, as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Additional Information Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.
