TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Summary You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the Skills Workforce Development Training Section (Code 1400PI.12), Training Branch, (Code 1400PI.1), Performance Improvement and Innovation Division (Code 1400PI) at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1400) located at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will perform the administrative duties (records management, class completion reports, grading exams, assessing students, etc.) of the training programs. You will create, modify, and present courses/curriculum to personnel including, supervisors, apprentices, trade personnel, engineers, and technicians utilizing classroom instructions, demonstrations, and mock-up simulations. You will coordinate and schedule all training logistics (dates, times, classrooms, attendees, class material, notifications, etc.) required to teach courses. You will analyze training conducted to determine course improvements and modifications required. You will stay abreast of the latest adult learning technological advancements and instructional methods and techniques. You will comply with all organizational record keeping procedures upon completing. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience creating, modifying, and/or presenting a variety of ship construction courses and lessons plans to personnel including, supervisors, apprentices, trade personnel, and technicians utilizing classroom instructions, demonstrations, and mock-up simulations. Experience revising curriculum, on-the-job training, and evaluates overall training effectiveness. Experience utilizing the latest training technological advances to determine course content, training aids, and instructional approach. Experience performing safety compliance in industrial/shipyard settings using knowledge of OSHE regulations pertaining to, but not limited to, the following in order to facilitate technical instruction in various subjects pertaining to respirators, fall protection, and/or forklifts. Experience improving training courses and staying abreast of changing administrative and technical requirements to determine instructional methods based upon the needs and make-up of the students. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience creating, modifying, and/or presenting a variety of ship construction courses to personnel including, supervisors, apprentices, trade personnel, and technicians utilizing classroom instructions, demonstrations, and mock-up simulations. Experience revising curriculum, on-the-job training, and evaluates overall training effectiveness. Experience creating, modifying, and/or presenting lesson plans and training materials based upon course objectives. Experience improving training courses and staying abreast of changing administrative and technical requirements. Experience performing safety compliance in industrial/shipyard settings using knowledge of OSHE regulations pertaining to, but not limited to, the following in order to facilitate technical instruction in various subjects pertaining to respirators, fall protection, and/or forklifts.
