Training & Laboratory Support Coordinator

JOB OBJECTIVE: Provide training and laboratory support, project management, and administrative support for Promega Global Service and Support training programs to ensure high quality customer service and efficient operations. Provide support to enable trainings in a variety of formats, including remote classroom, onsite classroom, webinars, and self-paced online courses. Coordinate and facilitate laboratory activities, including ordering stock and equipment maintenance. CORE DUTIES: 1. Manage progress of training events using project management software, processes, guidelines, tools and templates. Provide updates to the respective team, project leads and sponsors. 2. Coordinate training events and program communications. 3. Serve as Program Administrator for all training programs at the Singapore Training and Service Center using processes and tools. Oversee and manage the learner cohort, including eligibility, training progression, and approval / certification status. Coordinate and communicate with the Program Director, sponsors, managers/supervisors, instructors, and learners about training program opportunities, scheduling, and implementation. 4. Organize and manage logistics for onsite trainings and customer visits/events at Singapore Training and Service Center. Host training events and provide logistics assistance (catering, hotel and restaurant bookings) for participants and team members. 5. Assist trainers/instructors in the laboratory and training rooms for setup, procurement of training materials and protocol validation. 6. Facilitate and support trainers/instructors during remote training events and webinars. 7. Assist local Global Service & Support team with their purchasing needs. Manage ordering process, including quoting, ordering and follow-up. Check backorders and identify alternative sources. 8. Liaise with branch logistics for shipments and handling deliveries to the laboratory. 9. Manage laboratory stocks for biological samples, reagents, consumables, laboratory lab coats cleaning and biohazardous and chemical waste removal. 10. Work on special projects as requested, including scientific project work that may require wet lab activities or experiments. 11. Track and maintain physical and electronic inventory of laboratory equipment. Renew instrument service contracts and schedule preventive maintenances. 12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for training processes and tools. 13. Track projects in the project management software. 14. Maintain confidentiality for training records, survey responses, and correspondence. 15. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Diploma or bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, life sciences or related disciplines. 2. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a molecular biology laboratory or equivalent setting. 3. Excellent oral and written communication skills (including appropriate use of scientific terminology). The position requires a great deal of interaction with a variety of people within and outside the company. 4. Ability to speak professional English and ability to interact with an international audience. 5. Cooperative and friendly, able to accept work from a variety of people and maintain an attitude of cooperation. Ability to frequently and accurately communicate verbally with the team and other employees within Promega. 6. Highly organized, attention to detail and follow-up. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and manage time to meet deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, direction, and strategies. 7. Excellent computer skills, including good knowledge of PC Windows computing environment and proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS-Teams. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications. 2. Ability to move objects up to 15 kilograms.
