Training Manager

The Training Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing comprehensive training programs to support the skill development and growth of employees across all levels at the East Coast Bakery. This role collaborates closely with the ECB management team to ensure alignment with bakery goals and delivers impactful training initiatives that foster continuous improvement, safety, and productivity. The Training Manager leads a staff of production-based Master Trainers who organize and conduct training and educational programs for employee development, orientation, and on-the-job training. Here’s more of what you’ll get to do: Implement targeted employee training programs by partnering with department leaders to identify training needs, goals, and desired outcomes. Oversee and continually improve the orientation and onboarding programs for new hires to facilitate a smooth transition and maximize early-stage engagement and retention. Create and manage training curriculum focused on leadership development for Managers and crew leaders, equipping them with the skills needed to lead their teams effectively. Facilitate and conduct training with employees at all levels. Manage the administrative documentation and recordkeeping for training conducted at the ECB. Manage programs aimed at upskilling employees and providing specialized training for skilled positions across all departments, ensuring alignment with production and quality standards. Lead, mentor, and support the Production Master Trainer team, ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality training for new production hires during their onboarding process. Apply project management principles to oversee training initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, resource management, and alignment with organizational goals. Utilize Root Cause Analysis, training metrics, flowcharts, and other analytic tools to identify training challenges, propose resolutions, and measure the effectiveness of training interventions. Conduct ongoing evaluations of training programs and processes to ensure they meet intended objectives, are current, and align with the needs of the Bakery. Determine the most effective instructional methods for training sessions, whether individual coaching, group workshops, or hands-on demonstrations, to enhance learning experiences. Assist in developing and updating training handbooks, visual aids, models, and other resources that support training content. Evaluate employee test scores and performance metrics post-training to assess program impact, providing detailed reports and recommendations to management. Continuously seek ways to improve training content, delivery, and outcomes, working collaboratively with management to meet East Coast Bakery’s overall training and development objectives. What we require: 5+ years’ experience in training employees at all levels; preferably in a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience supervising and guiding training teams. Must be bi-lingual in Spanish and English. Strong project management skills with the ability to implement and lead multiple initiatives effectively. Should possess a deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methods. Must demonstrate the ability to manage people and processes. Must drive execution in a compassionate and collaborative manner. Must possess well developed leadership and organizational skills. Must be project oriented and have the ability to follow through on long term goals. Must be able to develop training plan and schedules to support business objectives. Desire to be in customer-oriented environment. Must be flexible to flow to the work independent of the shift and work hours. Ability to handle multi-tasking and excel in fast a paced environment. High degree of dependability and integrity. MS Office proficiency. What we prefer: Master’s degree in HR, Learning and Development/ Adult Learning, Organizational Development or similar program. 5+ years’ experience in training employees at all levels; with operations experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience with change management and project management. ATD Certified Professional credential (Association of training and development).
