Southwire Job Description

Job Summary/Objective
The Training Manager will collaborate with the Denton site team members on all training areas, as it relates to the plant’s training needs. This individual is responsible for the planning and execution of training events that educate and promote safety and education to our team members. The Training Manager will design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those training needs of the employees in Denton.

Key Responsibilities
•    Reviews existing training programs suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization.
•    Analyze training needs to develop new training programs.  Modify and improve existing programs while applying principles of learning models and theories.
•    Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
•    Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization, while conducting and facilitating the required training sessions.
•    Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
•    Maintain training records and learning metrics within Operations, providing insight and recommendations to drive business and talent needs.
•    Works closely with the corporate training group on new cross training and skilling up plans
•    Lead and/or participate in initiatives that include, but are not limited to, Six Sigma projects, Kaizen events, or other lean activities.
•    Work alongside People & Culture (HR) on position development programs, talent management, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.
•    Will require training/reviewing jobs in a hot and sometimes dirty environment. Must be able to work various shifts to include weekends as needed for business purpose.
•    Leads the efforts to design, document, and deliver job-specific training
•    Work closely with Safety, Quality and Operations to develop, implement, improve, and maintain training documentation & processes to support safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency initiatives.
•    Coordinate and participate in New Department/New Hire Orientation.
•    Responsible of Denton Plant Southwire Designated Qualified Trainer (train-the-trainer) program.
•    Performs other related duties as assigned.
