SLAC is looking for an experienced training program manager / instructional designer to develop web-based training and manage the catalog of Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Division courses in support of the lab's scientific mission. **Your specific responsibilities will include:** + Design, develop, and maintain Web-Based Training (WBT) and Instructor-Led Training (ILT) modules. + Develop and test web training materials to ensure SCORM conformance and section 508 compliance. + Review and improve our current catalog of courses and develop new training curriculums as needed. + Work with subject matter experts and the line to evaluate and assess training needs. + Translate skills and knowledge identified from training needs assessments into learning objectives and performance measures. + Design, develop and produce multimedia training material, including video-based training material and interactive web-based training material. + Work with program managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to Interpret DOE, OSHA, and SLAC lab policies to ensure training compliance. + Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and training material. + Coordinate with vendors to provide specialized training that is not provided by our in-house experts. + Assess and recommend technology-based training development and delivery tools. + Identify and recommend/implement improvements to SLAC's training programs and processes, including, the SLAC training website, SLAC's training applications, the Cornerstone training portal, and WBT courseware and authoring tools. + Forecast training needs, establish training schedules, track the provision of training, and makes process modifications as needed. + Keep abreast with research and training technologies that enhance the ROI of SLAC's training. + Maintain relationships with other training organizations within the DOE complex to benchmark training and processes and share resources. **To be successful in this position you will bring:** + Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. + Demonstrated effectiveness in consulting with, business partners and subject matter experts to assess learning needs and recommend high-impact e-learning solutions and learning curricula. + Demonstrated proficiency in applying instructional design theory, models, and best practices. + Demonstrated proficiency using instructional design tools such as learning project plans, design documents, learning hierarchies, storyboards, prototypes, etc. + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all members of a learning team, vendor partners, and business partners to create a learning environment that is service oriented, supportive, engaging and effective for adult learners. + Demonstrated proficiency and experience in industry standard tools such as authoring tools, digital, graphics media, audio, animation, and video production tools to create impactful courses. + Demonstrated ability to evaluate the effectiveness of learning materials. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Demonstrated ability to clearly and succinctly convey learning content in a manner that engages learners and improves learning retention rates. + Experience integrating online learning courses/certification programs with one or more learning management systems. + Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and individuals at all levels of an organization. + Demonstrated skills in project management of learning development projects involving eLearning authoring, audio, video, and text production and post-production. + Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. + Ability to collaborate in a team situation;
