We are about creating new horizons and sustainable solutions. The Offshore Energy division is active in both the offshore wind and in the oil and gas installation and decommissioning markets. Business units like Offshore Heavy Lift and Subsea Cables have a focus on offshore wind. We solve challenges in transport and installation of offshore wind farm foundations, inter array and export power cables. We want to be an offshore installation contractor with the right expertise, experience and commitment to execute operations safely, on time and within budget. The continuous training and development of our on- and offshore personnel is vital to be able to achieve that ambition. To this end we have established a suit of product specific trainings and developed our offshore simulators. Both contribute to the training of our personnel, and de-risking of offshore operations during the preparation phase.
Training & Simulation Manager
In the role of Training & Simulation Manager, you are responsible for the identification and follow up until implementation, of product specific training and development needs within the OE business units Subsea Cables and Offshore Heavy Lifting. Part of the role is dedicated to managing the daily operation of the heavy lift and cable lay/burial simulators.
Department managers within the business units Offshore Heavy Lifting, Subsea Cables and Fleet are your main internal clients. There is also a close relation towards the Learning and Development organization and Human Resources since all non-product specific learning interventions are, in principle, managed by them.
Managing the daily operation of the offshore energy simulators means cost control, maintenance and continuous development of the simulation facilities, including the simulation area on the campus, simulator layout and hard- and software of the simulators themselves. Ensuring creation, maintenance and development of training material. Availability and training of trainers. Planning of simulator use to ensure efficient use of the facilities.
You will liaise with various internal and external stakeholders as described above. Therefore it is important to master stakeholder management, understanding the development needs of a wide range of personnel covering both on- and offshore roles. A pro-active approach and an interest in new technology is required to identify new training and development needs and opportunities
Required Skills: Able to be the ‘spider in the web’ in the OE organization and to professionalize the set-up of the training center Knowledge and experience in the field of Learning and Development Relevant experience in a nautical, engineering or operational management role; Experience in creation, professionalization and continuous improvement of department processes, systems and way of working A good command of written and spoken English; Knowledge and experience of offshore heavy lift / cable lay & burial and DP is a pre; Experience in definition and roll-out of a learning portfolio is a pre.
