Training Specialist Type of Position Full time Search Location(s) Brewster, NY Apply Now (https://phe.tbe.taleo.net/phe03/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=CPOFNYS&cws=45&rid=5599) Job Brief The Training Specialist will provide training to direct support professionals, and supervisory and management staff for the purposes of enhancing services and quality of care for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Shift Worked: M-F - Variable Hours Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour POSITION DUTIES: Responsible for assisting the Senior Coordinator of Training with the development and implementation of training curricula for direct support professionals and management staff. Responsible for monitoring compliance with training requirements and ensure that all employees are up-to-date in trainings required by OPWDD, CP Unlimited and other regulatory entities. Conducts both in-person and virtual training sessions for new hire orientation training programs for direct support professionals and professional staff. Develops training aids including but not limited to training handbooks, multimedia visual aid and computer tutorials. Assist with administrative tasks including but not limited to: database entry, photocopying, scanning filing, preparing and sending both hard copy and electronic and for the maintenance and provision of materials used in various trainings. Assist the Senior Coordinator of Training with developing systems and practices to ensure the smooth operation of the department and maintain the highest quality of services provided to the programs. Coordinates, schedules and regularly conducts trainings in CPR. Responsible for assessing training needs in agency wide programs based on internal and external reviews. Ensures that all trainings are developed and conducted in a person-centered planning framework and philosophy. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Minimum BA/BS in related human service field. 2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in in developmental disabilities and/or related field with 1 year’s experience in staff development/training. 3. Thorough knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing the operation of Agency programs. 4. Excellent verbal and communication skills. . 5. Knowledge of development and maintenance of database systems and proficient in Microsoft office applications. 6. Must be able to travel to all facilities in the metropolitan area to provide training/technical assistance, as necessary. 7. CPR Instructor Certification preferred.
