Training Specialist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide training classes for employees by scheduling and conducting training classes. Maintain all record keeping in for certification and license compliance. Develop lesson plans and training material for training events within the Business Unit.Provide on-the-job training using in-house training programs.Keeping management apprised of training progress; making recommendations; providing support to employees after completion of training.Visit stores on a periodic basis to ensure compliance with training standards, review training progress, issues, and opportunities.Provide training and support to store employees by developing and delivering training programs.Improve and modify training programs by identifying new requirements and changes within the industry and best practices.Build rapport with trainees and encourage their development.Research and evaluate training software programs to automate the administrative functions of the department.Order training supplies and materials to enhance instruction.Encourage store compliance with training completion requirements.Increase professional and technical knowledge by; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.3-5 years of experience or more preferred in convenience retailing; 2 years of experience in training as a facilitator or instructor.Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Must possess strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple activities.Must be able to communicate professionally both verbal and written.Must be able to always maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor.Must be self-motivated to accomplish all assigned duties in a set timeframe.Up to 75% travel may be required.
