Training Specialist
This position on the METRO Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for planning, and coordinating the **training, professional development, communication, and engagement activities** for the program workforce. **Training and Professional Development:** + Identifies individual skills gaps, assesses workforce-training needs, and assists in developing training initiatives to supplement Sponsor-provided training. + Continually modifies and improves existing courses to ensure training needs are met. + Collects and reports metrics on training programs and other initiatives. + Collaborates with Training Team colleagues and PMO management to co-lead monthly brown bag events and the mentoring program. **Communication and Engagement:** + Contributes to communication deliverables that reach across the program, to include the monthly newsletter. + Ensures the portal provides consistent, accurate, updated, and useful information to all stakeholders. + Establishes additional communication channels and cadence for specific stakeholders across the program as needed. + Oversees event planning for town halls, all hands, monthly meet-and-greets, and training/learning events to include drafting speech/presentation content, sending invitations, securing facilities, and other logistics. + Seeks every opportunity to interact with the workforce and customers to control messaging, assess needs, and to report findings to the Lead Training Manager, the Program Manager (PM), and the Deputy Program Manager (D/PM). **Data and Reporting:** + Helps the Training Team to update the CDRL-003 Training Plan every six months for the customer. + Develops methods to survey and evaluate effectiveness of training provided. + Oversees data input (high and low side) to maintain accurate records on the workforce. + Conducts analysis of data for reporting and implementing any changes or improvements. **Strong programmatic, interpersonal and communication skills required:** + Reports directly to the Lead Training Manager, and indirectly to the PM and D/PM. + Collaborates with Training Team colleagues and other PMO colleagues (e.g. Lead Staffing Manager, Staffing Coordinators, and Chief/Project Leads). + Works closely with Project Leads to offer mentoring and/or one-on-one tutorial solutions for any contractor identified as having performance issues. + Works closely with PMO colleagues and Project Leads to implement a way to educate Sponsor managers on program processes and best practices across the program. + In tandem with PMO leadership, creates and implements a Talent Retention Plan (to include the collection and analysis of data from stay and exit interviews, 90-day and post-training surveys, etc.). **Required qualifications:** + A minimum of five (5) years Sponsor experience as a staff or contract employee, with direct knowledge of the directorate-specific LCAT roles and responsibilities. + Advanced knowledge of principles and methods for creating training curriculum, course design and instruction, ideally with experience teaching tradecraft unique to the Sponsor. + Well-developed oral, written, presentation and group facilitation skills. + Ability to diagnose training needs and provide the appropriate training methods and programs. + Strong planning and organizational skills. **Desired qualifications:** + Ability to operate with minimal direction while coordinating with PMO colleagues/leadership. + A robust network across the customer space, especially with tradecraft-training experts. + Strong problem-solving skills. + Previous training experience. + Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to mentor and coach others.
