TRAINING SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the NAVAL TRAINING SUPPORT AGENCY of NAVAL FACILITIES INSTITUTE. VRA is acceptable for applicants that are applying GS 11 Only Responsibilities You will conduct research, develop and communicate project schedules, conduct conferences, manage communications with subject matter experts and other stakeholders. You will act as Technical Point of Contact for contracted training. You will analyze individual and group training and development needs to monitor the effectiveness of programs. You will review the progress for compliance with instructors and adhere to the established practices. You will develop action plans to correct training deficiencies discovered during assessments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising management on professional/leadership development training policies and procedures; 2) Identifying, develop and communicate project schedules, conduct conferences, manage communication with subject matter experts and other stakeholders; and 3) Preparing briefs to management and staff on professional/leadership development training courses and recommendations for mandatory/required training. GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching products, systems and processes including original equipment manufacturers technical publications, manuals, existing courseware and policies and doctrines; 2) Conducting needs assessments and analysis to provide recommendations for solutions related to professional/leadership development training; 3) Identifying training solutions for advanced instructional methods and techniques for conventional instructor led training, computer based training, web based training, blended training solutions and other unconventional interactive, muti-media training methods; 4) Providing technical oversight to contract requirements and accepting delivery of services/products; and 5) Determining which performance aids would be paramount for full range of training strategies (e.g., discussion, gaming, tutorial, drill practice simulation) with full range of instructional training computer videodiscs, interactive software, video telecommunication, and the print media for training aids.
