Training Specialist
Salary: $52,000/year POSITION OBJECTIVE: To deliver effective training and support to the system of care staff to ensure they have the knowledge and the skills needed to provide services to the children and families within our care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Deliver or facilitate case management-related pre-service training presentations in order to create a positive learning experience. Provide in-service training and community presentations. Assess child welfare training strengths and needs for development of training schedules. Enhance pre-service training by ensuring that county-specific practicum days are scheduled to assist in the transfer of learning. Facilitate learning circles on relevant topics. Provide frequent support to case management through the use of labs and group supervision. Provide post pre-service field support for trainees and supervisors to assist in the transfer of learning from the classroom to the field. Provide assistance in case plan development, judicial reviews, court related functions, staffing preparation and field activities. Coordinate FPOCF training calendar and ensure required trainings are conducted per schedule and Annual Training plan. Help to identify opportunities for training programs based on system of care needs, interests and/or enhancement opportunities. Annually review and adjust Training Plan. Produce and utilize training reports (attendance and skills assessment), enter required information for Learning Management System (LMS). Effectively utilize training/course effectiveness data and satisfaction surveys. Conduct second party reviews of cases submitted for certification. Participate in the agency strategic plan & quality improvement processes Ability to safely & successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, & other federal, state, & local standards, including meeting qualitative & quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA , FMLA & other federal, state, & local standards Ability to comply with all personnel policies & procedures NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties in other counties as assigned This list of functions is not intended to be exhaustive. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required Florida Child Welfare Practice Model/ 2-5 years experience required PREFERRED: Master’s degree or equivalent Certified Child Welfare Professional Trainer 1 year training/ facilitation experience preferred Demonstrable experience developing and delivering training curriculum SKILLS: REQUIRED: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to interact with and maintain high morale among employees Demonstrate cultural and linguistic competence & sensitivity to population served Ability to travel SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Thorough Background Screening upon hire including FBI, FDLE, Local Law check, Employment Reference check, DMV check, Criminal Records check, Social Security Trace & Drug Screening. FDLE check will be run at least every 5 years.
