TRAINING SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the SURFACE ADVANCED WARFIGHTING SCHOOL of NAVSURFMINEWARDEVCEN DET SAN DIEGO. Responsibilities You will serve as Lead tactical Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)/Surface Warfare (SUW) expert, instructor, and expert in systems and Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP), as well as the assistant course manager. You will review and verify accuracy of all training and assessment syllabi developed for all respective courses. You will maintain current knowledge and answer questions on curriculum development procedures, policies, directives, etc. while maintaining open communications with fleet customers. You will define program goals and ensure the establishment of supporting goals and milestones in coordination with functional elements to ensure optimum execution in terms of schedule, readiness, scope, and quality. You will assess program requirements and establish program goals, mission priorities, resources and staffing required and assign workload. You will establish performance metrics, reporting processes, and evaluation methodology to assess program accomplishments. You will conduct periodic program review and analysis briefings to compare progress with objectives and established milestones. You will establish and maintain effective relationships with both enlisted personnel and senior officials to gain their cooperation on complex or controversial issues. You will develop and review ASW and SUW tactical doctrine to ensure that current ASW and SUW capabilities, anticipated threat operating profiles, and lessons learned during recent fleet exercises are all included. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, improving, and administering a combat systems (e.g. Anti-Submarine Warfare, Surface Warfare) training program by establishing evaluative criteria, reviewing instructional materials, and analyzing problems to increase the tactical proficiency of the Surface Force.
