Responsibilities You will facilitate lessons per approved Master Lesson Files (MLF) and course control documents through the means of learning objectives towards the aims of learning outcomes. You will integrate theory in practice within lessons and learning programs in accordance with service level guidelines. You will adapt facilitation to resolve common problems such as student motivation and communication, last minute schedule or student changes, equipment malfunctions, or lack of supplies. You will use enabling learning capabilities (Nearpod, Kahoot, Marine net E-Learning Ecosystem, and so forth) to enhance learning experience before, during, and after lesson facilitation for continuity of learning. You will ensure learners are knowledgeable of potential dangers from equipment and other hazards per current, pertinent Operational Risk Management directives, policies, and guidelines. You will prevent learner misbehavior through personal facilitator ethics, democratic approaches (that provide learner freedoms in balance with facilitator boundaries and control), engaging learners, and applying prevention techniques. You will recommend innovative and emerging approaches as well as any possible changes to facilitation in lessons, learning programs, and on-the job faculty development learning resources to the responsible continuum lead and CLFD detachment leaders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Teaching, training, researching, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods; Determining objectives and strategies; Coordinating with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; Monitoring and evaluating the progress and outcomes for learners; Anticipating potential threats or opportunities AND Interprets training requirements and curriculum needs and independently adapts training to fit the needs of the learner. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate level education OR I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR I have successfully completed a LL.B. or J.D., if related OR I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
