The purpose of this task order is to provide the Department of Labor, Office of the Inspector General, a Training Specialist in support of official efforts.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Provides guidance and advice on issues related to the identification and fulfillment of critical training and workforce development needs for individual components within OIG. Assists the Training and Workforce Development Branch Chief in designing and developing traditional, blended, and 508-accessible e-Learning courses; knowledge and experience using Adobe Captivate and/or Articulate e-learning authoring tools a mustProvides overall support to the OIG regarding participation in the internal, external, and Departmental awards and recognition programs.  Evaluates individual courses or activities to determine their effectiveness in meeting established objectives and makes recommendations on modifications in focus and strategies.  Develops 508-accessible course materials, training aids, instructional methods, and other related activities covering training or workforce development opportunities; develops online courses using course authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate. Works with a variety of staff in the review and assessment of existing training and workforce development materials and programs, making specific recommendations for modifications and technical improvements. Develops and assists with implementing a comprehensive new employee orientation program for all new hires to the OIG. Serves as backup System Administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS); knowledge of basic System Administration functions preferredAssists with facilitating development sessions (workshops) and information sessions for the OIG Mentoring Program.Identifies off-the-shelf training products to meet specific needs and works with vendors to customize products to suit OIG offices.  Updates, modifies, and /or develops SOPs as needed.Provides a variety of administrative support across all programs in the Training and Workforce Development Branch. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Prior experience with designing and developing traditional, blended, and 508-accessible e-Learning coursesExperience using Adobe Captivate and/or Articulate e-learning authoring toolsExperience developing 508-accessible course materials, training aids, instructional methods, and other related activities covering training or workforce development opportunitiesExperience developing online courses using course authoring toolsExperience Developing and implementing a comprehensive new employee orientation programExperience utilitizing off-the-shelf training products and customization to fulfill client needsExperience updating, modifyinf and developing standard operating proceduresAbility to communicate with coworkers, stakeholders, and customers clearly and professionally. The individual must exhibit a positive attitude and aptitude for the position.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.
