Training Specialist III

Tundra Federal is seeking a highly skilled Training Specialist to develop and deliver Type-1 and Type-2 training for U.S. Air Force personnel in the 1D7 Cyber Defense Operations career field. This role focuses on training operators, maintainers, system administrators, test personnel, helpdesk staff, and Technical Order (TO) writers on an enterprise Zero Trust solution.

Responsibilities

Conduct Training Needs Analysis to ensure training programs are tailored to U.S. Air Force requirements.

Develop, refine, and deliver Type-1 and Type-2 training courses for both on-site and remote sessions, ensuring alignment with Air Force standards and program objectives. This includes:

Training Plans.

Instructor Guides.

Lab Guides.

Class Presentations.

Convert Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training materials into structured courseware such as student guides, lab guides, and instructor guides, in compliance with the USAF Tongue and Quill standards.

Deliver engaging and technically accurate training sessions focused on the various technologies that comprise the Zero Trust solution, targeting Journeyman 5-level Airmen in the 1D7 Cyber Defense Operations career field.

Provide facilitation and support during training sessions, ensuring the effective delivery of course content, adherence to schedules, and assistance to participants as needed.

Regularly assess training outcomes and incorporate feedback to refine and improve the curriculum.

Qualifications

5 years of experience developing and delivering technical training materials, including classroom-based, on-site instruction.

Experience in technical writing, including the ability to adapt OEM content into structured training documents (e.g., student guides, lab guides, instructor guides) compliant with DoD standards and the USAF Tongue and Quill.

Strong knowledge of network infrastructure technologies, including switches, routers, SD-WAN, firewalls, and other zero trust architecture components.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience in delivering technical training in clear, precise American English.

Ability to travel to support on-site training sessions at designated Air Force bases (CONUS and OCONUS) as required.

Active Secret Clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Relevant certifications, such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or DoD instructional design and development certifications.

2+ years of experience developing and delivering Type-1 and Type-2 training within a DoD environment.

Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud) and Zero Trust solutions.

Pay Range

$120K
