Job Description

The Training Supervisor for Oshkosh North is responsible for the plant training strategy, including designing, developing and facilitating the technical training programs. The Training Supervisor will lead a team of 4-6 dedicated plant trainers within the facility, in addition to providing indirect leadership to department trainers and machine operators. This role will have strong business partnership to the Oshkosh North plant Operations Leaders and is indirectly supported by the Learning and Development Team to ensure consistency in the development and delivery of our training from plant to plant in the Amcor Flexibles network.

What You Get To Do

Design, develop and execute site training strategy in alignment with AFNA time to productivity fundamentalsAdminister the site a trainer selection and certification program to ensure that all trainers are competent in their ability to properly train incoming new hires including tracking trainer effectiveness and identifying trainer opportunitiesDevelop and manage Training Matrices, Competency Matrices, Training/Learning Plans, and Training Documentation in support of site training requirementsDevelop and deliver training resources to support the knowledge development of non-English speaking colleaguesEvaluate best methods to develop and deliver training and materials that meet organizational needs including, but not limited to, specialized internal training, on or off-site vendor delivered courses, computer-based training, seminars or workshops, courses supported by Amcor L&D, EHS or HRProvide expertise in training needs assessment, training design, adult learning strategies/delivery, post-training evaluationsPartner with managers to assess and analyze learning needs based on performance, talent planning and needs assessment data. Identify learning solutions for technical business needsImplement standard templates, training standards, digital tools to ensure facility is aligned to overall strategic direction of the AFNA Technical Training programsOversee site technical skills development programs for operators and skilled tradesAssess and monitor the effectiveness of all learning and development initiatives against predefined metricsCompile data and analyze past and current year training requirements to help determine training priorities and best use of resources. Assess effectiveness of overall training and impact to performance and makes adjustments as neededOversee the maintenance of required training records and reports/provides requested data to appropriate internal personnel: HR, Production, Supervisors, Quality, etc.Develop and maintain a plant training calendar to ensure all regulatory and Amcor required training timelines are met.Oversee the maintenance of training document completion via Workday LearningParticipate in internal and external audits as requestedDevelop and maintain training program for new supervisorsProvide guidance to department trainers to ensure alignment and consistency throughout the plant. Provide regular feedback to department heads on the department training programManage external vendor relationships, as necessary following preferred vendor standardsPartner with AFNA Learning and Organization Development to deploy training solutionsOther duties as assigned.

What We Want From You

Bachelor's Degree desired in Education, Training, Safety or Human Resources.5-7 years’ work experience in a training/development capacity or other operations leadership experience , preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience in flexible packaging industry a definite plus.Experience with implementing ESL.Continued personal development through trade journals, technical and management seminars, and participation in professional organizations, etc.Previous Supervisory or Leadership experience.Certification as a Training and Development Manager or Specialist (or equivalent) from a recognized organization, to develop and manage a training program.Knowledge of and/or certification in LEAN Six Sigma, Safety a plus.Significant computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.Frequent interaction with others who work in both an Office / Plant environment
