**Job Summary**
Responsible for providing Energy Delivery organization with the highest quality documentation of processes and systems. Assists in the editing of documents for spelling, grammar, and content accuracy and readability. Has fundamental understanding of various software technologies and functionality of application systems. Assists in the layout and organization of manuals and other documents.
**Job Description**
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
+ Supports Energy Delivery groups in preparing and editing Process documents.
+ Assists in the editing of documents for spelling, grammar, content accuracy, readability, and consistency.
+ Assists or independently prepares and updates documentation plans. Prepares outline of content and written text. Coordinates layout and organization of manuals and other documents.
+ Ability to organize moderate to complex technical topics from various sources into one cohesive document.
+ Researches, develops, reviews and coordinates new procedures and changes to existing procedures.
+ Coordinates with other departments & organizations during procedure development and revision process.
+ Establishes procedure revision guidelines, procedure standards, and procedure writing guidelines.
+ Demonstrates professionalism and ethical behavior in all work habits. Maintains a positive attitude.
+ Promotes adherence to corporate standards, policies, enabling characteristics and ethics.
+ Performs all duties, and works with others in a safe manner, in compliance with company safety policies and rules.
+ Performs emerging duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a four-year technology degree with emphasis in technical communication, or related field experience.
3-4 years related experience.
**Salary Range:**
Trans Technical Writer(Grade 6)- $72,380- $90,474.
Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate’s ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities. The following locations are NOT currently approved for this position: AK, CO, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, ME, MS, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WY, US Territories or international work locations. AEP will consider qualified candidates who are willing to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidate’s expense, provided the relocation can be completed within a timeframe that meets AEP’s staffing needs. NOTE: All remote work locations require vetting and final approval prior to offer and/or start date. Any work locations listed as preferred or unapproved relate specifically to the requirements for this position and are not necessarily applicable to other posted positions.
