Transaction Assurance Analyst

Under direct supervision, the Analyst, Transaction Assurance will support critical accounting and analytical functions by performing transaction and general ledger reconciliations for sales and other key business processes. This role is essential for ensuring profitability through accurate transaction validation, timely resolution of exceptions, and insightful data analysis. 

  

Location: Grapevine Office (In-office, 5 days a week) 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Conduct transaction reconciliations with precision, adhering to GameStop’s established timeframes. 

Investigate and resolve exceptions using tools such as Blackline, General Ledger, POS systems, and other downstream platforms. 

Prepare and review journal entries to meet accounting standards. 

Perform monthly reconciliations of General Ledger accounts and provide detailed variance analyses. 

Analyze exception trends and deliver actionable insights using tools like Excel and Power BI. 

Assist management in documenting policies, procedures, and training for new team members. 

Participate in special projects, including the development of new Blackline reconciliations. 

Collaborate across departments to identify and resolve process and system inefficiencies, reduce costs, and prevent losses. 

Prioritize and respond effectively to requests from field teams, supporting them in delivering exceptional customer service. 

Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. 

Uphold team values by meeting deadlines, being flexible, and fostering a collaborative work environment. 

  

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 

1–2 years of general accounting experience required. 

Experience with SOX compliance preferred. 

Familiarity with reconciliation or sales audit software (e.g., Blackline, SAP) preferred. 

Retail industry experience is a plus. 

  

Skills and Abilities: 

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 

Knowledge of account reconciliations, credit card processing, and cash management processes. 

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

Detail-oriented with the ability to identify discrepancies and respond professionally to errors. 

Ability to work effectively under time constraints and meet production goals. 

Skilled in communicating clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, systems, and processes. 

Strong commitment to upholding organizational policies, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
