SUMMARY

Working with general supervision, the Transaction Assurance Associate Analyst performs various accounting and analyst duties related to sales audit, card processing, and card/cash payment reconciliations. The primary business outcome for the role is to increase profitability through accurate and timely validation and reconciliation of sales and other critical business transactions. Coordinating with supervisors, an associate in this position will assist in performing sales audit and daily/monthly account reconciliation duties. Associates in the role will also assist the manager in performing special projects, with an emphasis on improving team processes and procedures. This position requires timely reporting to management and field. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Complete sales exception audits and credit/cash reconciliations accurately and within GameStop’s expected timeframeResearch and resolve audit exceptions using available tools, including sales audit, reconciliations, and POS systems as well as other down-stream systemsCompile sales audit and reconciliation results and perform business analysis on audit trends for management using Excel and Business Intelligence toolsPrepare journal entries for review and process information to meet other accounting requirementsPrepare monthly General Ledger account reconciliationsAssist Transaction Assurance supervisors with training of new associatesCollaborate within the Transaction Assurance team to identify and report process and system related issues and improvement opportunities; follow up to resolutionAssist Transaction Assurance Manager with special projects, as necessaryMaintain intradepartmental relationships as it pertains to job responsibilitiesWork collaboratively with others within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, simplify processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on timeDisplay excellent verbal and written communication to internal and external customersManage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplaceDemonstrate a consistent commitment to field-focused service by prioritizing field-based requests, responding quickly and favorably to field-based feedback by minimizing tasks, and proactively seeking ways to help store teams focus on customer service as productively as possibleModel the high level of customer service expected of all GameStop associates including, but not limited to, responding to voice mails and emails within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others’ feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by offering assistance to other functional teams when appropriateModel team commitment by adhering to the team's expectations and guidelines; fulfilling team responsibilities; and demonstrating personal commitment to the team by being cooperative, collaborative, and flexible

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of 1-2 years of general accounting experience; SOX experience preferredExperience working within reconciliation or sales audit software preferred (e.g., Blackline, ReconNET, Aptos)Proven ability to quickly learn and optimize the use of technologies preferredRetail experience preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
