Payments Product Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Payments Product Manager is pivotal in providing the direction and end to end management of the Payments products, with responsibility for defining and implementing the Payments Product business strategy, understanding the risks associated with the product, development of new products and commercialization of these products. The role requires a deep understanding of Corporate payments and payment rails including cross border/cross currency solutions. Understanding of client challenges/opportunities and industry trends will be required as inputs into the Payments strategic product roadmap and commercialization strategy.

Responsibilities include:

Product management of large-scale payment transformation initiatives (e.g. joining new payment rails)Operating as a subject matter expert across global payments solutions, including payment rails and the domestic and cross-border payment product solutions that leverage these rails (e.g. SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, FPS, CHAPS, BACS, SEPA, SEPA Instant, TARGET2).Driving the payments product strategy forward through partnership with key stakeholders including Engineering in delivering solutions that utilize the latest technology to provide value to clients. The Payments Product Manager has end-to-end oversight over the product and therefore through their knowledge, leadership and understanding of the product risks can deliver industry-leading solutions alongside a robust risk management framework.Commercialization of products through robust go-to-market strategies as part of product launch. This is achieved through understanding the voice of the customer by close collaboration with Sales and Servicing teams to understand client needs and how the existing and future products can meet them. In additional to acting as an SME to internal stakeholders across the organization.Moderate travel is required for the role.

 

Ideal candidate has:

Experience as a payments product manager or payments product development leadDetailed payment rail knowledge (e.g. SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, SEPA, BACS, TARGET2) and the ability to identify risks and controls associated with payments productsProven track record of delivering initiatives on-time whilst balancing customer’s outcomes, business needs, technical feasibility and product risksDemonstrable ability to partner with operations and engineering teams to deliver best in class solutionsExperience of end-to-end product ownership from ideation to commercialization, working in a diverse global team driving rapid team and product growthComfort in client-facing situations partnering with Sales teams with the ability to understand and articulate customer needs and turn requirements into actionable solutionsExcellent organizational, time management and planning skills and experience of maintaining requirements and information in JIRA and Confluence

Basic Qualifications 

Bachelor’s Degree or military experienceAt least 5 years of experience in payments related role 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

Expertise and experience of ISO 20022 and SWIFT standards across payments and cash management domainsDetailed knowledge of domestic and international payment rails.
