A local hatchery  near Algona, IA, in business nearly 100 years,  is searching for the person that enjoys manual labor and has great attention to detail to work on our Transfer Crew. The transfer crew is responsible for the care, handing and transfer of eggs, chicks and young poultry within the hatchery.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the safe and timely transfer of eggs from incubators to hatchers, or chicks from hatchers to brooding areas. Handle eggs and chicks with care to minimize damage or stress. Monitor the transfer process to ensure chicks are not overcrowded or exposed to unfavorable conditions. Inspect eggs or chicks for any abnormalities, defects, or signs of disease during the transfer process. Report any issues with eggs or chicks to the supervisor or hatchery manager. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to address any issues that arise during the transfer process. Follow strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease transmission within the hatchery. Adhere to safety standards in handling eggs, chicks, and hatchery equipment. Assist in general hatchery tasks as needed, such as cleaning, feeding, or monitoring incubators and hatchers. Provide support in other areas of hatchery operations, especially during peak seasons.

Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs HS Diploma or equivalent not required

Compensation and Benefits:
