Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced, strategic Transformation Initiatives Portfolio Analyst to help oversee, and optimize the Global Client Onboarding Transformation Initiative Portfolio.

Ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, driving business value, and enabling data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, managing, and monitoring the strategic planning, sequencing, and execution of initiatives across the project portfolio to align to organizational objectives complying/utilizing enterprise standards, processes, and tools.

Collaborating with stakeholders to identify capability / product gaps and translate them into opportunities; conduct rigorous business case assessments for funding requests and provide actionable insights for value realization. Identifying barriers to change within the respective portfolio and making recommendations to improve the probability of success and identify tradeoffs and decisions to help portfolio optimization.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical expertise, effective stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver concise, high-impact recommendations to leadership driving measurable value out of the portfolio.

Key Job Responsibilities

Develop and drive portfolio management best practices and standards that will improve productivity, investment decision making and realize targeted business outcomes.Develop and monitor a consistent project management methodology, including creating and promoting the use of templates, tools, processes, and project health metrics to measure and ensure project success aligned with Enterprise standards.Develop a project prioritization, intake, and portfolio review approach by collaborating closely with business and technology partners to ensure transparency, consistent direction, and development priorities.Develop project charters and assist with business case development for viable opportunities.Review, track and monitor business case input and results.Create and reports on benefits realization based on the justification in the business case for each project and/or programContribute to training for portfolio management functions.Collaborate with the business to deliver functional and enterprise level capabilities and ensure they align to the projects supporting their portfolios.Collaborate with (ECMO) Enterprise Change Management Office, Governance & Oversight, Program Management, (OCM) Organizational Change Management and (DMO) Digital Modernization Office to ensure use of standard methodologies, processes, tools, and reporting metrics (KPIs) across the portfolio.Develops a set of executive and portfolio related dashboards to communicate up and down the organization the status of the program portfolio.Manage the intake and demand management function and maintains the capital and expense budgets across the program portfolio.Responsible for the adoption of portfolio management methodology across the portfolio.Contribute to the development of overall Global Client Onboarding Business and IT strategy as it relates to the project portfolio and performance of the portfolio.The person in this role will interact weekly/regularly with Transformation Management Office leads to understand program health, resolve issues, and mitigate risks.Ensure transparency into financial health of the portfolio.Monitor gating process for portfolio projects and programs.Support the collection and analysis of data into Project Health reports to highlight key trends, areas that need additional support and action, and support ownership of resolutions.Develop reports, presentations, and data analyses for leadership to communicate strategic priorities in board meeting, executive reports outs, etc.Ensure greater visibility, alignment, and effective coordination of the priorities to help with the portfolio roadmap.Help program/project/solution managers and or scrum masters by promoting consistent use and evolution of modern processes and tools.Partner with Business and Technology leadership to manage assigned portfolio intake including assessing, prioritizing, and resourcing in alignment with portfolio and business goals.Manage issues, risks and dependencies within assigned portfolio and cross impacting portfolios.Partner with IT and Transformation Office to manage portfolio budgets and financial reporting.Continuously analyze and optimize resource capacity (including people, financials, tools) using demand/supply forecasting techniques to minimize resource constraints for portfolio efficiency.Conduct regular portfolio reviews at multiple levels to report progress and implement agreed improvements.Drive adoption of and ensure adherence to PMO processes, standards, and PPM tools.Create, maintain, and improve project portfolio management practices and tools to drive a cohesive approach for consistency and efficiency aligned with enterprise standards.Effective communication of project status updates to senior management is essential, as is holding cross-functional team members accountable for delivering their tasks.Identify gaps and provide recommendations for improvement in current project methodology and overall project performance.#LI-Hybrid@LI-GG1

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalentSeasoned expert with program/project management expertise that has been developed over 10+ years of work experience, in strategic planning, execution, project portfolio management, risk management, or transformation management. Managing project portfolios in blended Agile and traditional PPM environments delivering strategic and complex programs in a demanding environmentProject portfolio management skills including planning, estimating, cost-benefit analysis, tracking, resourcing, issues, risk, and change management.Strong knowledge of system and software SDLC, PMO and leading practices and methodologiesProject management and Agile certifications (e.g., PMP, SAFe, CSM, CSPO, etc.)Experience with modern PPM tools Clarity PPM, JIRA, Azure Dev Ops etc.Skilled in coaching and mentoring program, project managers, portfolio coordinatorsHighly collaborative with proven ability to build relationships across IT and Business stakeholders.Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, including ability to share ideas and information across diverse audiences to drive to business decisions.Able to partner with and manage third party providers to deliver maximum success.Understanding of Lean and Continuous ImprovementProven analytical skills applied to business problems in either corporate or consulting setting.Flexibility and maturity to interact effectively with executives, associates at all levels, customers, third party vendors and suppliers.Ability to package story and communicate to C-Suite Level management.Proficient in data visualization, analysis, and business presentation skills. (Excel, Power Point required)Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines, ensuring the effective use of resources and timely execution of strategically important initiatives.Highly flexible and adaptable to changeLeadership and organizational skills

Salary Range:

$114,700 - 194,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
