Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transit Planner, we'll count on you to:

Demonstrate extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experienceCollect, assimilate and manage project-related dataCreate technical reports, presentations, and other materials to document planning study findings (such as corridor studies)Assist in preparation and participation of public information meetings and hearingsPlan and monitor aspects of large multidiscipline transportation planning and transit projectsEstablish client relations and be involved with production meetingsAssist in directing the work of others in completion of required studies, documents and reportsParticipate in planning work sessions in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplinesMentor and coordinate staff and workload through entire project development to complete documents on scheduleLead and direct on a variety of transportation planning projects including complete streets, transit planning, long range planning, community planning, or concept development.Participate in corridor studies associated with FTA CIG projectsParticipate in grant writing and reviewCreate technical reports, presentations, and other materials for stakeholders and clients to document planning study and concept design findings

Transit plansLocal, regional and statewide multimodal transportation plansTransit oriented developmentCorridor studiesShort and Long Range Transit and Transportation PlansTransportation planning reportsTransit studies for multiple modesBicycle and pedestrian studiesNew mobilityData analysis, mapping, graphicsCommunity engagementAssist in projects relating to emerging transportation technologiesPerform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Planning or a related field5 years of relevant transportation and transit planning experiencePossess excellent analytical and communication skillsUnderstanding of transportation and transit planning principlesPositive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasksExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and Geographic Information SystemsDemonstrated presentation skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Planning or related fieldAmerican Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)Demonstrated ability in Indesign, Illustrator, PhotoshopFamiliarity with transit facilities planningExperience coordinating with transit agencies, municipalities, state, and federal government organizations with relevance to transportation and transit in Ohio
