Transit / Rail Project Manager

HDR is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to support our growing transit and rail market sectors; This Position is responsible for providing project management and technical services to Transit and Freight clients in Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. This position requires strong management skills and working with different facets of transit capital projects and rail public projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience with local transit agencies such as the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, the Maryland Transit Administration, Virginia Railway Express, Virginia Passenger Rail Authority and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation as well as class I railroads CSXT and NS.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local standards and requirements and will have extensive knowledge of transit focused project delivery processes such as conceptual design and feasibility, environmental documentation, preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PSE), and providing Design Support During Construction (DSDC).

In the role of Transit / Rail Project Manager, we'll count on you to:Manage capital program engineering design and construction projects or programs in assigned area from conceptual design through completion; project areas may include trackwork, station improvements, systems, automated fare collection and other tasks as needed for state of good repairSee that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through HDR's proactive project management systemIndependently coordinate work of professional staff and balance team throughout entire project's developmentParticipate in reviews with various governing agencies for complianceEstablish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetingsConduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staffTrack financial aspects of projects, coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to scheduleWork with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsMaster's degreePMP certificationPreference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering 7 years related experienceA minimum 2 years project management experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseMS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
